My name is Benjamin Kenneth Sey Jnr. , a Ghanaian leather craftsman with a degree in art Education and a zest for leather craft.
Among my creations, a leather file holder stood out like a rare gem.
I had always been captivated by the beauty of work cattle, their strength, and the elegance of their black-patched skin. I couldn't resist the desire to encapsulate their essence in my work. So, I set out on a mission to craft a file holder that would do justice to the magnificent creatures.
I began by carefully selecting a piece of full-grain chromium-tanned leather, as exquisite as it was durable. With every meticulous stitch and careful cut, this leather was brought to life. The colours I chose were symbolic of the cattle's journey; brick brown represented the hard work they endured, and maroon symbolized their regal spirit.
The process was challenging, but I refused to compromise. I wanted the file holder to be more than just an accessory; I wanted it to be a piece of art that told a story.
As the final stitch was secured, a remarkable transformation occurred. The leather file holder seemed to carry a piece of the cattle's soul within its elegant, black-patched design. Its surface had a warmth that beckoned you to touch it, and it radiated an air of timeless wisdom.
From a distance you could feel the connection to the hardworking cattle, a bond that transcended time and place.
