My name is Kevin Kakande Joshua, Ugandan and I draw inspiration from the environments that I have lived and experienced life in and the relationship between natural and artificial. Art started for me at the young age of 5 when I used to make pen sketches of cars I liked. I have always been interested in the man-made aspects of life and how they correlate with the natural world and how the both have to coexist. This drew my specialties down to paintings, portraits, logos, cartoon sketches in multimedia like computer graphics, pen, pencil, pastels, oil and acrylic paint. Most of my inspirations are pulled from the styles of renaissance artists like Leonardo Da Vinci, Donatello, Michelangelo and Giotto who had an advanced artistic approach to illustrating perspective and perfectionism, a technique that I always use in my human portraits. Still on the discussion of perfectionism, Post-modern artist @salaam on IG has been an inspiration in approaching execution of hyper-realistic portraits. In the realm of abstract art, I have been inspired by Pablo Picasso in the use of shapes in creative execution of messages in paintings and logos. This painting has the purpose of delivering the message of being beware of beautiful demons. Things aren’t always what they seem. In this painting, the demon in the background is running the whole image casting an illusion of a bright worship figure in the middle ground to trick the worshipper into surrendering to the false god. The demon is aided by technology of course because now more than ever, it’s easier to believe in the false rather than the true because of the advancement in technology. .
