My name is Precious Odejayi, a graduate of Integrated Science Education from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and the founder of Ayoni_ade Fashion Brand, a bespoke fashion label specializing in both men's and women's wear. I am a Fashion Illustrator and a skilled pattern maker. I am deeply passionate about fashion and art, and my designs are influenced by the vibrant styles of Gen Z, infused with a touch of Afrocentric elements. My aim is to encourage people to embrace our cultural identity with pride and elegance, while integrating it into contemporary life. I strongly believe in the importance of connecting with our African heritage. By merging traditional elements with modern styles, we can create stunning pieces that are both meaningful and stylish. Each symbol or pattern on a fabric carries a story, and wearing an Afrocentric design is a way to showcase a piece of history. I believe fashion illustration plays a crucial role as the initial step in the creative design process. It provides a visual guide for the rest of the design, enabling the preview and presentation of ideas before moving to production. Fashion illustration is a powerful tool for expressing creativity without wasting fabric and for persuading clients to choose specific designs that suit their body types. For these reasons, it is essential for every fashion brand to work closely with a fashion illustrator like me.
