NgoziFego is a Nigerian fashion designer inspired by a desire to find practical and sustainable way to reduce fabric offcuts from going into waste. I continued doing my research but most of the methods I found to upcycle fabric were either beyond my reach, not wearable by humans or just not sustainable. Then I discovered quilting. The downside to quilting was that it was too heavy and not suitable for the African climate, so I decided to reinvent it by making a fabric that is less heavy, aesthetically pleasing & more usable for everyday clothing. It’s been so many months refining and redefining the process for our upcycled fabrics KPOKPO and I’m glad we can finally share it with the world. I am very much committed to reducing waste and creating masterpieces from them while positively impacting our community.
