Textile surface designs inspiration from natural surface

design

some text

I am Nathaniel Afum, a textile and graphic designer. The project looks at converting natural surface patterns, like those from animal skins, tree barks, earth cracks, and many more, into textile print patterns. The tools used to execute this project are Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The natural patterns are obtained through images which are derived from the internet or from personal shot, they are then rendered in Adobe Photoshop to make it editable, mostly in a black and white format. It is later transferred to Adobe Illustrator to enhance the captured image, which is then arranged in a seamless pattern. Afterwards colours are applied to it.
