I’m Olakusehin Damola Emmanuel. A 19yr old Nigerian studying in the University of Lagos. I’m a multifaceted Visual Artist who paint with Acrylic medium on canvas. My Art pieces are inspired by the experiences of people around me and the culture of Africa as a whole. This Art idea and title explains the fact that there are certain individuals(single mother)who tend to hide their pains, inflictions, and sufferings with a fake smile, giving the impression that everything is fine with them whereas they are not. This art piece is inspired by the awful experiences faced by a single mother. Taking responsibility of the children education, catering for the children and seeing to the well-being of the family are challenges she faces all alone, bringing about depression, financial incompetency and severe struggle as a single parent. In the process of making her children happy, she often time hide her pains with a fake smile to make her family happy whereas deep down within her, she isn’t fully at rest and happy with her situation. This art piece demands for support and encouragement financially and emotionally for a single mother.
