My name is Valentina Akee, an Artist from Nigeria, with a passion for Arts and fashion. My work here is a pastel pencil portrait of a young lady in her prime. It depicts intricate details and there are emotional depths to it. Most young girls are seen as "fragile" and "vulnerable" in the society, some exploited and the rest Victimised for not conforming to some immoral norms of the society. We go through this with "tears" in our eyes, while wearing a smile courageously to confront what's before us. All we need is empowerment and a chance to prove ourselves.
