My name is Ombima Emmanuel Masava, and I am an artist from Nairobi, Kenya. I am a Drawing and Painting student at Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts. I discovered my talent early on, which ignited my passion for exploring and mastering the craft of painting. My Life Story 1 - Robinson Omweri is the first piece in the My Life Story series. In this acrylic painting, I depict the life of an African Kenyan artist from a unique perspective. The artist, seated on an improvised chair, is fully immersed in his work, painting a distorted female figure wearing headphones on an easel in front of him. Next to him, an Orion 4-litre paint bucket and two canvases lie ahead.
The subject of the painting, Robinson Omweri, is an African Kenyan artist who focuses on painting distorted female figures reading books. Through this piece, I aim to capture the essence of an artist deeply connected to his craft, using his work to tap into his inner self. The painting serves as an eye-opener for viewers, encouraging them to explore their inner greatness and bring their unique vision to life. It underscores the importance of appreciating one's inner beauty, realizing that there is space in the world for individuality, and embracing one’s purpose.
