I am Bernice Osei Sarpong, a proud Ghanaian and a passionate textiles student from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). My love for textiles is rooted in my belief that fabric is not just a material, but a medium of self-expression, culture, and innovation. With this philosophy, I created a design that marries softness with rich texture, embodying both elegance and comfort.
This design features velvety textures that bring forth a harmonious blend of smoothness and depth. At first touch, the surface is irresistibly soft and plush, offering a sense of comfort and warmth. Yet, beneath this initial softness lies an intricate texture that subtly catches the eye, creating a visual richness that speaks of refined craftsmanship.
Inspired by the desire to elevate everyday garments into statement pieces, my textiles are crafted to exude opulence and luxury without sacrificing comfort. Whether used in fashion, home décor, or accessories, these velvety textiles transform ordinary creations into pieces that are both visually striking and deeply comforting.
Why do I do this? It’s about more than just creating beautiful fabrics. For me, textiles are a way to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, blending cultural influences with contemporary design techniques. My work reflects my passion for sustainable, thoughtful creation, where each piece not only feels luxurious but also carries a story of purpose, art, and craftsmanship.
