My name is Meroni Lelenguiya Tumbo. I come from Samburu County in Kenya, i amthe secondlast from a family of five and the only artist in the family .I started drawing when I was about tenyears old ,i did my primary school in naivasha and also my secondary .I have basically grownina traditional background.The love for cubism art started when i visited one of the gallery .The piece that i have created i have used oil paint on canvas by applying geometric shapes and overlapping elements which have contributed to the final piece. The bold contrasting colors i have used helps in the interaction of the composition which is thewoman holding her chin,the painting style has transformed it into traditional form. The woman in the painting seems to be in deep thoughts its like she is hoping for something tohappen something better to happen ,the yellow circle represent the sun rise which represent anew day just as it is believed in the traditional life and the red on the lips represent beauty.Cubism art basically is enjoyable both to paint and to view.
